Major interests are in the field of psycho-neuro-endocrinology of female reproductive and post-reproductive life with a special focus on women’s sexual health. She has published around 450 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and international books with more than 24,000 citations (HF Google Scholar 84).
She is a well-known speaker on women’s health from adolescence to menopause.
She is past President of the International Society for the Study of Women Sexual Health (ISSWSH). At present, she is permanent member of the advisory board of the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology (ISGE) and of the International Academy of Human Reproduction (IAHR) and President of the International Menopause Society (IMS).
