Datuk Dr Abd AzizYahya is currently a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecological Oncologist in private practice in two premier private hospitals in Kuala Lumpur.
He graduated with the MBBS from the University of Malaya in 1982 and became a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 1988 after obtaining his qualification from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London. He spent another two and half years at the St. Mary’s Hospital in London where he undertook further training in Gynaecological Oncology. He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1990. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Malaysia. In 2016, he was awarded the Honorary Fellowship of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
He was the past chairman of the Gynaecological Oncology Committee of the Asia Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (AOFOG). He was a Board member of FIGO (2000-2015), the Past President of OGSM and the Past President of the Asian Society of Gynaecological Robotic Surgeons (ASGRS).
He is a certified Robotics Surgeon, having gone through the required training and proctorship in Singapore and South Korea. He did his first Robotics Assisted Hysterectomy in April 2009. He now performs regularly Robotics assisted gynaecological surgery for both benign and malignant conditions.
