Dr. Syahrina is an Associate Professor and Consulting Pathologist at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. She graduated with an MB BCh BAO (Dublin, Ireland) and completed her residency training in Anatomic Pathology in Malaysia. Furthering her expertise, she trained at Sheffield Children’s Hospital in the United Kingdom and the Department of Forensic Medicine at Hospital Sungai Buloh in Malaysia, where she focused on perinatal and placental pathology, and paediatric death.

For over a decade, she has served as the principal consultant in placental and perinatal pathology at the Department of Pathology, Hospital Selayang. In addition to her undergraduate and postgraduate teaching duties and administrative responsibilities, she conducts seminars and workshops related to her field and has authored various publications. Dr. Syahrina is a member of several professional organisations and holds research grants. Her current work and collaborations concentrate on uteroplacental and gestational pathology, stillbirths, and paediatric deaths
