Dr Khairul Anuar Zainun

Dr Khairul Anuar Zainun is a resident Consultant Forensic Pathologist at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Hospital Sultan Idris Shah, Serdang, Selangor. He is a medical graduate of the University of Otago, New Zealand.  After completing housemanship training in Hospital Ipoh, he served as medical and health officer of Kinta District Office in Perak. He returned to Hospital Ipoh to work at the Department of Forensic Medicine and later pursued postgraduate training in forensic pathology at the University Kebangsaan Malaysia. He had previously served as Forensic Pathologist at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru and Hospital Sungai Buloh prior to assuming his current role at Hospital Sultan Idris Shah, Serdang.

Dr Khairul Anuar has a special interest in paediatric death investigation. He underwent subspecialty training in perinatal and paediatric pathology at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, United Kingdom, focussing on sudden death investigation in infants and children within Sheffield and its surrounding regions. His other interests include quality assurance and performance standards in forensic pathology. He enjoys teaching and is an active researcher with published articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Khairul Anuar is a member of College of Pathology, Academy of Medicine Malaysia (AMM), Malaysian Association of Forensic Medicine & Science as well as Malaysian Medico-legal Society.
