Dr Ng Poh Yin is Senior Consultant & Head of Urogynaecology Unit ,Hospital Tunku Azizah,Kuala Lumpur. She is also a visiting Urogynaeolcogist in Sunway Medical centre, Velocity. She is currently the President of Malaysia Urogynaecology Society. She holds the Urogynaecology Subcommittee Chairperson for Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society of Malaysia. She is the immediate past Chairperson of Urogynaecology Subcommitte of Ministry of Health Malaysia and examiner for exit exam for the Board of Urogynaecology, Ministry of Health of Malaysia.She is also an expert witness especially in Obstetrics and gynaecology cases and also chaired multiple external enquiries for Minsitry of Health of Malaysia.
She is a trainer for houseofficer, trainer for Mastetrs and MRCOG and certified trainer for urogynaecology subspeciality having trained 10 urogynaecologists.
She is active in research in the Urogynaecology field. Multiple research papers were presented and published both locally and internationally at yearly basis. Her interest had always been Obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIS) and Bladder Pain Syndrome..She ran surgeries and training programme in Urogynaecology in Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia and Mongolia . These were all self funded projects.
She had been active in humanitarian work having involved in providing medical care for disasters’ victims in Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Cambodia and Mongolia. She is a certified trainer for disaster management for women in crisis and post crisis situation particularly in the field maternal health.
She is active in Tzu Chi foundation providing medical care ( especially in O&G) for Myanmarese refugees since 2007; having participated in local and international medical outreach . She was also the founding member of the Malaysia Tzu Chi Stroke Support group. Besides medical , she is also very active in Environmental protection programme. She had started the recycling programme in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
