Dr. Lilly Mary G.P. Lazarus is a distinguished midwifery educator, researcher, and clinician, serving as Senior Lecturer and Head of the Midwifery Programme at ILKKM Sungai Buloh. With over two decades of experience in maternal and neonatal care, she has made significant contributions to midwifery education, research, and clinical practice, shaping the future of maternal healthcare in Malaysia and beyond.
Dr. Lilly earned her PhD in Nursing from the University of Malaya, where her dissertation focused on enhancing midwifery practices to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes. She pioneered the development of a mobile application to monitor episiotomy pain and wound healing, revolutionizing postpartum care through digital health innovations. As a key figure in midwifery education, she played a pivotal role in designing and implementing an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum for the Advanced Diploma in Midwifery under the Ministry of Health, ensuring its alignment with global standards and securing accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Additionally, she actively contributes to postgraduate research assessment as an external examiner and co-supervises PhD students, nurturing the next generation of midwifery scholars and practitioners.
Dr.Lilly is widely recognized for her expertise. She has been a keynote speaker at prestigious global conferences, including an international webinar on postpartum haemorrhage management in Malaysia and the 6th Annual Healthcare Summit in Chennai. She has also collaborated with international institutions. She recently completed an attachment at the National Nursing and Midwifery Training Centre in Hyderabad, India, where she refined her expertise in advanced midwifery practices and contributed to knowledge exchange initiatives. Her outstanding contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the "Excellence in Midwifery" International Award from the Venus International Foundation in Chennai in 2023
