August 2024
Dear Ms Balasubramaniam

Welcome to the August edition of your members newsletter.

This month, we have been welcoming the members of five new scientific committees: Adolescent Youth and Health, Women of Reproductive Age, Women of Menopausal Age, Breast Health and Women's Health and Technology. We are grateful to the eminent colleagues who will serve on these committees, and to Dr Hema Divkar who has taken on the role of Division Director, Well Women Health Care. The committees are already developing their workplans, and I have been inspired by their passion and commitment as they develop these specialist areas of work further with FIGO.

We have also been working on analysing the responses to our second membership survey. Across both surveys we have conducted this year, two thirds of all member societieshave responded - thank you once again to those who have taken the time to share your views and experiences with us. Our ongoing membership review is continuing to take shape informed by your feedback to ensure our offer is strong, relevant and meets your needs.

As we look ahead to September, we are busy preparing for an in-person Board of Trustees meeting, hosted by the FIGO HQ team in the UK. Over three days trustees will conduct formal board business and participate in strategic workshops. This is part of the ongoing work to strengthen FIGO, increasing our impact for women's health and rights and serving our members into the future. I'll share more on this vital work in the coming months.
